Microsoft Viva Glint 2025 updates

1. UTF-8 BOM support for CSV uploads
Organizations can now upload CSV files using UTF-8 BOM encoding, reducing integration challenges for global teams managing multilingual employee data. This update simplifies data preparation for HR departments, particularly those operating across regions with diverse language requirements.
2. Advanced data export capabilities
Admins gain access to enriched raw data exports, including survey cycle UUIDs, date filters, and multi-page comment reports. This empowers HR teams to perform deeper sentiment analysis and track trends over time. Notably, sensitive comments are now flagged automatically, ensuring compliance with privacy standards.
3. Zero downtime deployments (Starting February 15)
Historically, Viva Glint required 4–8 hours of downtime during updates, disrupting survey cycles. From February 15 onward, deployments will occur seamlessly, eliminating scheduling conflicts and improving user trust in the platform’s reliability.
4. Language code standardization (Effective April 10)
Aligning with Microsoft’s global standards, language codes will transition to ISO 639-3 formats. For example, “Chinese (Simplified)” becomes “zh-Hans.” A preview column in the Employee Attribute Template helps admins prepare for this shift, minimizing localization hurdles.
