In a bid to address the growing concerns around AI chatbot security, Microsoft has unveiled a suite of new tools within Azure AI aimed at preventing users from manipulating chatbots into generating harmful or unintended content. Azure AI prompt shields
The new features include “prompt shields” that block prompt injection attacks, where users attempt to steer AI models away from their training and safety guardrails. Additionally, Microsoft is rolling out a system to detect “ungrounded material” or hallucinations in chatbot responses, which can lead to the generation of false or nonsensical information.
These tools are designed to enhance the reliability and trustworthiness of AI applications, particularly as the use of generative AI continues to rise among consumers and businesses. Microsoft’s Azure AI, which powers a range of AI models including the company’s own chatbot, Copilot, and its partnership with OpenAI, will benefit from these advancements.
