To utilize the Copilot bot on Telegram, users need to search for @CopilotOfficialBot and verify its authenticity by looking for the checkmark. Once found, users must share their Telegram phone number with Microsoft to activate the bot. This step is essential for functionality but may raise privacy concerns among some users. The bot is available for free on both mobile and desktop versions of Telegram, making it accessible to a wide range of users.

Microsoft’s move to integrate Copilot into Telegram aligns with a broader trend of AI companies embedding their language models into messaging apps. For instance, Meta has integrated Meta AI into Messenger, WhatsApp, and Instagram, while Google has introduced its Gemini bot in Google Messages on Android devices. These integrations highlight the growing importance of AI in enhancing communication and information retrieval within messaging platforms.

As Microsoft continues to expand its Copilot bot in Telegram and other offerings across various platforms, including business applications, PCs, and Microsoft 365, the introduction of Copilot in Telegram represents a strategic effort to make AI more accessible and useful in everyday interactions. Users can look forward to further enhancements and possibly new features as the bot evolves beyond its beta phase.
