After years of being a PlayStation exclusive, the critically acclaimed open-world action game Ghost of Tsushima is finally making its way to PC. Sony has announced that the Director’s Cut edition of the game, which includes the base game and all its expansions, will be launching on Steam and the Epic Games Store on May 16, 2024.
Ghost of Tsushima PC port
The PC port is being handled by Sony’s in-house porting studio, Nixxes Software, known for their work on high-quality PC conversions of games like Marvel’s Spider-Man and Horizon Zero Dawn. According to Nixxes’ Julian Huijbregts, the team is “thrilled to collaborate with the talented team at Sucker Punch Productions” to bring Jin’s story to a new audience on PC.
The PC version of Ghost of Tsushima will include a host of exclusive features, including support for ultrawide and super-ultrawide resolutions, as well as triple-monitor setups. It will also feature the latest upscaling technologies, such as NVIDIA DLSS 3, AMD FSR 3, and Intel XeSS, to help boost performance on a wide range of hardware.
Additionally, the game will offer full DualSense controller support, allowing PC players to experience the haptic feedback and adaptive triggers that were a highlight of the PlayStation version. The PC release will also include the Japanese lip-sync that was missing from the original release, making it an even more immersive experience for players who prefer to play with the original Japanese audio and English subtitles.
New Ghost of Tsushima announcements

One of the standout additions is the inclusion of a new PlayStation overlay, which will allow PC players to access their PlayStation Network account, Friends list, Trophies, Settings, and Profile directly from the in-game menu or by pressing the SHIFT+F1” shortcut. This feature ensures that PC players can fully immerse themselves in the PlayStation ecosystem and earn Trophies just as they would on a PlayStation console.

The PC version will support cross-play in the game’s cooperative Legends mode, enabling players on Windows PCs to team up with those on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 consoles. This cross-platform functionality will allow the Ghost of Tsushima community to expand and connect across different platforms.
Ghost of Tsushima technical specifications and system requirements
In terms of technical specifications, the PC version of Ghost of Tsushima Director’s Cut will offer a range of graphics presets to accommodate a wide variety of hardware. From the “Very Low” preset for older systems to the “Very High” preset for high-end PCs, players will be able to find the optimal settings to ensure a smooth and visually stunning experience.
The system requirements for the different presets have been detailed, with the “Very High” preset recommending an Intel Core i5-11400 or AMD Ryzen 5 3600 processor, along with a GeForce RTX 3070 or Radeon RX 6800 XT graphics card to achieve 4K resolution at 60 frames per second.
The announcement of Ghost of Tsushima Director’s Cut’s PC release is a significant step forward for Sony’s strategy of expanding the reach of its first-party titles beyond the PlayStation ecosystem. By bringing this acclaimed samurai adventure to PC, the company is opening up the game to a new audience and further solidifying its commitment to delivering high-quality experiences across multiple platforms.
As the gaming community eagerly awaits the arrival of Ghost of Tsushima Director’s Cut on PC, the inclusion of PlayStation-specific features and cross-play support promises to create a seamless and immersive experience for both longtime fans and newcomers to the game.
