Microsoft and GSA Unlock Colossal OneGov Agreement With $6 Billion Federal AI & Cloud Transformation Savings

The U.S. General Services Administration (GSA) and Microsoft have unveiled a multi-billion dollar OneGov agreement aimed at accelerating artificial intelligence (AI) and cloud modernization across the entire federal government. This sweeping strategic partnership between Microsoft and GSA will provide U.S. agencies with unified pricing and steep discounts for Microsoft 365, Copilot, Azure Cloud Services, Dynamics 365, Sentinel, and Entra ID Governance—unlocking a projected $3.1 billion in taxpayer savings in the first year alone and over $6 billion across three years.

Federal Agencies Enter the AI Era with Powerful Tools—at Historic Discounts

Under the new agreement:

  • Microsoft 365 Copilot will be offered free for up to 12 months to all Microsoft G5 customers, providing vital AI assistance for secure federal environments.

  • Eligible workloads will access Dynamics 365 at no cost for up to a year, while Azure, Sentinel, and monitoring solutions receive deep discounts.

  • All agencies can opt-in to these deals until September 2026, with discounted pricing locked in for up to 36 months.

As Satya Nadella, Microsoft’s CEO, noted, “We will help federal agencies use AI and digital technologies to improve citizen services, strengthen security, and save taxpayers more than $3 billion in the first year alone”. GSA Deputy Administrator Stephen Ehikian emphasized, “We urge our federal partners to leverage these agreements, providing government workers with transformative AI tools that streamline operations, cut costs, and enhance results.”

Strategic Features: Security, Modernization, and Interoperability

The OneGov deal brings:

  • Unified Pricing & Government-Exclusive Bundles: New US Government-exclusive Microsoft 365 + Copilot Suite with tailored features for advanced security, analytics, and telephony.

  • Industry-Leading Security: Microsoft services in the deal (including Copilot, Azure, Dynamics 365) are authorized to FedRAMP High and NIST 800-53 standards or anticipated soon, ensuring advanced compliance.

  • Workshops & Support: Microsoft will invest an additional $20 million in implementation, adoption and cost optimization workshops.

  • Interoperability Commitments: Major discounts on Entra ID Governance reflect a focus on tenant-to-tenant interoperability and seamless collaboration across federal environments.

Driving America’s AI Action Plan and Digital Public Sector Transformation

By accelerating adoption of advanced secure AI tools, this initiative supports the White House’s America’s AI Action Plan and paves the way for a more modern, efficient, and innovative government for all Americans. GSA’s procurement leadership, leveraging the entire federal government’s buying power, continues to drive down costs and streamline access to the API-powered digital future.

How to Opt-In and Learn More

Federal agencies can enroll in any of these discounted Microsoft solutions through September 2026 by contacting their Microsoft representative or visiting the OneGov Homepage.
