Microsoft Switzerland Appoints Martin Stefik as New CFO, Marking a Strategic Leadership Transition

Microsoft Switzerland has announced the appointment of Martin Stefik as its new Chief Financial Officer (CFO), effective June 1, 2025. This significant leadership change comes as the company continues to drive digital transformation and growth in a dynamic Swiss technology market. Stefik succeeds Alexander Gaertner, who has taken on the CFO role at Microsoft Germany, ensuring a smooth succession and continuity in financial leadership for the Swiss subsidiary.

Microsoft Switzerland Appoints Martin Stefik as New CFO, Marking a Strategic Leadership Transition

Martin Stefik brings 14 years of finance leadership experience at Microsoft to his new position. Prior to this appointment, Stefik served as Commercial Finance Director for Microsoftโ€™s Central and Eastern Europe, Middle East, and Africa regionโ€”a territory known for its complexity and diversity. He started his Microsoft career in Slovakia in 2010 and has held senior financial roles in Munich and Prague. Stefik holds a masterโ€™s degree in finance, banking, and investment from Matej Bel University in Banskรก Bystrica, Slovakia.

In his new role, Stefik reports to Anita Ratkovic Andric, General Manager Finance for Western Europe, Switzerland, and the Netherlands at Microsoft. He also joins the Swiss leadership team, which includes CEO Catrin Hinkel and other key executives responsible for driving Microsoftโ€™s Swiss strategy and operations.

CEO Endorsement and Strategic Vision

Catrin Hinkel, CEO of Microsoft Switzerland, welcomed Stefikโ€™s appointment, stating,

โ€œHis international experience and financial leadership come at a pivotal time as we continue to build strong momentum in the Swiss market. Martinโ€™s strategic mindset and deep understanding of our business will help us accelerate growth and deliver even greater value to our customers and partners.”

This endorsement reflects Microsoftโ€™s confidence in Stefikโ€™s ability to guide the company through an era of rapid technological change, increased demand for cloud and AI solutions, and heightened expectations for financial stewardship.

Stefikโ€™s Commitment to Growth and Innovation

Upon his appointment, Stefik expressed his enthusiasm for the new role:

โ€œSwitzerland is a dynamic and innovative market, and I look forward to working with our talented teams to drive sustainable growth, strengthen our financial stewardship, and support our customers and partners in achieving long-term success.โ€

Stefikโ€™s experience managing finance across diverse regions and his focus on aligning financial operations with broader strategic goals position him as a key driver of Microsoft Switzerlandโ€™s ambitions. His leadership is expected to further reinforce Microsoftโ€™s role as a trusted technology partner for Swiss enterprises, government agencies, and the broader business community.

Leadership Team and Forward Momentum

With Stefikโ€™s appointment, Microsoft Switzerlandโ€™s leadership team now includes a blend of experienced professionals across sales, technology, legal, HR, and public sector domains, all working together to accelerate digital transformation in Switzerland. The companyโ€™s continued investment in local talent and leadership underscores its commitment to delivering innovative solutions, maintaining robust compliance, and supporting the Swiss economyโ€™s digital evolution.

Martin Stefikโ€™s appointment as CFO marks a new chapter for Microsoft Switzerland. His international background, financial expertise, and strategic vision are set to play a crucial role in guiding the companyโ€™s growth and maintaining its reputation for excellence in the Swiss market. As Microsoft Switzerland gears up for the next phase of digital transformation with Microsoft’s recent $400 million investment, Stefikโ€™s leadership will be instrumental in ensuring sustainable growth, financial discipline, and value creation for customers and partners.
