Gears of War: E-Day Leads the Week

The biggest XBOX release next week is clearly Gears of War: E-Day, which launches on October 6. The game is set 14 years before the original Gears of War and follows Marcus Fenix and Dominic Santiago during the first Locust attack known as Emergence Day.

Microsoft says the game will include a cinematic campaign, a reimagined Horde Siege PvE mode, and updated Versus multiplayer. It is built in Unreal Engine 5 and will launch day one through Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass, in addition to being sold separately.

The game will be available on XBOX Series X|S, PC, XBOX Cloud Gaming, and supported handheld devices. It also supports XBOX Play Anywhere, allowing players to move between compatible XBOX and Windows devices without buying separate versions.

Kingdom Hearts Collection Arrives

Square Enix is bringing a large portion of the Kingdom Hearts series to XBOX in one package on October 6. The KINGDOM HEARTS Collection [I~III] includes three previously released collections covering the major story entries from the franchise.

The bundle includes Kingdom Hearts HD 1.5+2.5 ReMIX, Kingdom Hearts HD 2.8 Final Chapter Prologue, and Kingdom Hearts III + Re Mind. The collection is listed as an XBOX Play Anywhere title.

Star Wars Gets a New Racing Game

STAR WARS: Galactic Racer also launches on October 6. Rather than focusing on lightsaber combat or traditional space battles, the game centers on dangerous racing circuits built around speed, gambling, and reputation in the post-Empire galaxy.

The game describes itself as a run-based racing experience, meaning each attempt can offer a different challenge as players compete through the Galactic League. The focus is on driving skill, strategy, and surviving the lawless Outer Rim rather than using the Force.

Horror Games Arrive October 8

October 8 is the busiest day of the week for horror fans. Clive Barker’s Hellraiser: Revival brings first-person survival horror to XBOX, with players controlling Aidan as he attempts to rescue his girlfriend from the Labyrinth.

The game features the Genesis Configuration puzzle box, the Cenobites, and Pinhead. Players will need to explore, solve puzzles, use the box’s powers, and survive enemies connected to the Hellraiser universe.

Also launching that day is Silver Pines, a detective game with a darker supernatural edge. Players take the role of private investigator Red Walker while investigating the disappearance of a musician in a remote and half-abandoned town.

For something less traditional, Deck of Haunts lets players become the haunted house. The goal is to manipulate visitors, exploit their fears, and use their terror to expand the house’s influence.

More Game Pass Releases

Microsoft’s official Game Pass announcement confirms that Gears of War: E-Day will be available on day one through Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass. The release will support XBOX Series X|S, PC, cloud gaming, and supported handheld devices.

Echo Weaver is also listed as a Game Pass title in the official XBOX release roundup. It combines Metroidvania exploration with a time-loop structure, allowing players to use knowledge gained from previous attempts to progress.

Microsoft notes that release dates can change, so players should check the XBOX Store and the Game Pass app for the latest availability information.

Final Thoughts

Next week on XBOX lineup is led by Gears of War: E-Day, but there is plenty more to choose from. Kingdom Hearts fans get a major collection, Star Wars receives a new racing game, and October 8 offers several horror, roguelike, detective, and strategy releases.
