XBOX players are heading into the final week of July with an enormous release slate, and the lineup covers everything from major first-party remakes to tiny indie curiosities, cozy sims, horror, strategy, and family-friendly games. The latest XBOX Wire post, “Next Week on XBOX: New Games for July 27 to 31,” breaks down the full schedule for XBOX SeriSeries X|S, XBOX One, XBOX on PC, and Game Pass, and it is one of the busiest weekly roundups Microsoft has published this month.
The biggest headline is Halo: Campaign Evolved, which launches July 28 in both Premium Edition and Standard Edition form, with Game Pass and XBOX Play Anywhere support. Microsoft says the remake stays faithful to the original Halo: Combat Evolved campaign while adding high-definition visuals, updated cinematics, refined controls, three brand-new prequel missions, and a broader arsenal of weapons, vehicles, enemies, and Skulls that change combat in new ways. Pre-purchasing also unlocks the Foundry Armory Pack, which gives players an extra cosmetic bonus for Master Chief’s Mark V Mjolnir armor.
Another major release is Dispatch, which arrives July 29 for XBOX Series X|S and XBOX Play Anywhere. The game comes from the writers and directors behind Tales from the Borderlands and The Wolf Among Us, and it puts players in the role of Robert Robertson, aka Mecha Man, after his mech-suit is destroyed in a fight with his nemesis. Instead of being the hero, he ends up working at a superhero dispatch center, managing a roster of ex-villains while trying to rebuild his suit and plan a comeback. Also on July 29, Mistfall Hunter joins the lineup as a Game Pass release on XBOX Series X|S and XBOX Play Anywhere, sending players into a bleak fantasy world where they gather Gyldenblood, fight enemies, and survive a harsh extraction loop.
July 27 releases
The week starts with a small but varied batch of releases on July 27. Broken Reality 2000 is a single-player adventure set in the ethereal metaverse of NATEM, where players solve quests, explore different sites, make friends, and collect Likes to unlock new areas. Forever Skies also lands on July 27, bringing a first-person survival experience where players return to a ruined Earth, build and upgrade a high-tech airship, craft tools, and hunt for viruses to treat a mysterious illness. Both games help set the tone for a week that mixes experimental ideas with more traditional action and survival gameplay.
July 28 releases
July 28 brings some of the week’s most recognizable names, starting with Halo: Campaign Evolved. Gothic Classic also arrives that day, letting players return to Myrtana in the cult RPG that helped shape the genre, with war-torn kingdoms, an ore shortage, and the penal colony of Khorinis at the center of the story.
Get Them Out! (Xbox Series) joins the lineup too, offering a cute puzzle experience built around hamster-shaped pieces, board-clearing combos, and strategic placement.
Rounding out the day is Gnardo back Home: PC Edition, a precision platformer built around a grumpy old man trying to make it back home through spikes, collapsing floors, moving platforms, and keys hidden across each stage.
July 29 releases
July 29 is the biggest day in the roundup, with a long list of very different games. Dispatch leads the pack, followed by Mistfall Hunter and the city-building strategy game Corsair Cove, which challenges players to build pirate settlements on cliffs and hilltops, manage production chains, manufacture tools and weapons, and raid islands as the Golden Age of Piracy comes to an end.
The King Is Watching also lands on July 29, mixing kingdom management and resource production with a unique mechanic where workers only stay productive while the king is looking at them.
Other July 29 releases include Truck-kun is Supporting Me from Another World?!, a chaotic anime-style driving and action game built around isekai tropes and a magical truck. 4 The Elements offers a 2D action platformer where players switch between Fire, Earth, Air, and Water to solve puzzles, defeat bosses, and escape a magical crystal.
Case Solved: The London Files focuses on logic-driven deduction with cozy noir storytelling and mystery cases that must be solved through observation and reasoning.
The retro and puzzle side of the week is also well represented. Dungeon Antiqua is a dungeon-crawl RPG inspired by 1980s and 1990s visuals and chiptune soundtracks. Railway Routes turns track-laying into a relaxing grid-based puzzle about building efficient train networks.
Sizeable keeps things short and chill with a shrinking-and-growing mechanic at the center of its exploration. Wake Up, Lia! delivers a narrative precision platformer set inside nightmares shaped by bullying, with local co-op available for players who want to tackle the journey together.
There is also Kusan: City of Wolves, a brutal top-down shooter set in a neon-drenched urban jungle, and Retrace The Light, a futuristic puzzle adventure about consciousness repair, emotional turmoil, and the Meta Mirror Project in the year 3323.
Verho – Curse of Faces adds a darker RPG option with a world where revealing one’s face means instant death, while The Green Light offers a first-person horror story about a man chasing freedom through disturbing hallucinations and a mysterious radio signal.
Nightmare Shift rounds out the horror side of the day with motel-night-shift tension, eerie apartment sequences, and a slow collapse of reality.
July 30 releases
July 30 keeps the momentum going with another huge batch of releases. PAW Patrol: Dino World is one of the most family-friendly entries, sending players into an open world with Chase, Marshall, Rubble, Skye, Rocky, Zuma, and a full dinosaur rescue adventure. Angel Engine takes a much darker turn, placing players in a dystopian future where scientists attempt to save humanity through surgical experiments and the mysterious Angel Engine Initiative.
Also arriving on July 30 are HARDWIRED: Ghost In The Reset, a brutal action-adventure shooter built by a solo developer; Leafy Corner, a cozy plant-shop management game; and Mechaconda, an arcade-style bullet hell game about controlling a mechanical serpent on a suicidal mission.
Redtail Relic Rush adds a fast platforming adventure with a red panda explorer and a grappling hook, while Shard Squad focuses on recruiting elemental creatures and combining their traits into stronger team effects. Truxton Extreme brings classic shooter action with power shots, lasers, and giant bosses, and Turnip Mountain delivers a physics-based climbing challenge controlled by independent hands.
The day also includes Zombie Graveyard Simulator, where players manage burials, cremations, staff, defenses, and nighttime zombie attacks in their own graveyard. These releases show just how wide the XBOX store lineup has become, with one day mixing horror, management, arcade shooting, platforming, and strategy all at once.
July 31 releases
The final day of the roundup still has several notable games, starting with Bee With Gun, an action game where players control an armed bee that must destroy enemy bases while protecting the hive. hyperdrive inn follows, setting players inside an endless hotel tied to a missing father and a cataclysmic family disaster that threatens existence itself. The last major listed release is Waterpark Simulator, which lets players build and run their own waterpark, design slides, manage staff, and turn chaotic ragdoll physics into a profitable business.
By the time the week wraps up, XBOX players will have seen one of the widest release ranges of the summer, from a major Halo remake to simulators, horror games, logic puzzles, survival adventures, and indie experiments. That variety is exactly what makes the weekly XBOX Wire format so useful for players trying to spot their next download before the weekend hits.
