A new time zone bug affecting both Windows 10 and Windows 11 is causing frustration among users by repeatedly prompting them to change their time zone, even when no changes have been made. This issue has been widely reported and is currently under investigation by Microsoft.

When the bug occurs, users are presented with a notification stating that Windows has detected a change in the time zone. The notification offers two options:

  1. Accept: Launches the Date and Time settings page, where everything appears normal.
  2. Ignore: Dismisses the notification temporarily, but it reappears after some time.

Microsoft’s response

Microsoft is aware of the issue and is actively working on a fix. However, as of now, there is no official timeline for when a resolution will be available.

The Microsoft Feedback Hub has reportedly been flooded with posts about this time zone bug, indicating that it’s affecting a significant number of users.

Temporary workarounds
