XBOX Game Pass members are getting a major Warhammer 40,000 takeover this weekend, as Microsoft rolls out a new XBOX Free Play Days promotion featuring five titles from the iconic sci-fi franchise. Available from Thursday, May 21 through Monday, May 25, the limited-time event gives players a chance to jump into the grimdark universe at no extra cost.
According to a new post on XBOX Wire, the Warhammer Skulls-themed Free Play Days event includes Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine – Master Crafted Edition, Rogue Trader, Battlesector, Chaos Gate – Daemonhunters, and Inquisitor – Martyr. XBOX Game Pass Ultimate, Standard (Core), and PC Game Pass members can access the games during the promotion window.
Two of the featured titles—Space Marine Master Crafted Edition and Rogue Trader—are also playable across both XBOX consoles and PC, thanks to XBOX Play Anywhere support. This makes it easier for players to switch between platforms while keeping progress synced.
XBOX Free Play Days lineup this weekend
The lineup offers a wide variety of gameplay styles for Warhammer fans and newcomers alike. Space Marine delivers fast-paced third-person action with enhanced visuals and modernized controls, while Rogue Trader focuses on deep RPG storytelling set in the dangerous Koronus Expanse.
Strategy players can dive into Chaos Gate – Daemonhunters or Battlesector, both offering tactical, turn-based combat set against the backdrop of galaxy-spanning war. Meanwhile, Inquisitor – Martyr brings an action-RPG experience with co-op gameplay and multiple character classes.
Microsoft is also offering significant discounts on all five titles during the event, allowing players to purchase and keep the games while retaining any achievements and Gamerscore earned during the trial period. Discounts vary by title, with some games seeing steep price cuts for a limited time.
To start playing, users can head to the XBOX Store on their console or visit XBOX.com, sign in with an eligible Game Pass subscription, and install the games directly from the XBOX Free Play Days collection.
This Warhammer-focused event is part of XBOX’s ongoing Free Play Days program, which regularly gives Game Pass members access to full games for a limited time. With five titles spanning multiple genres, this weekend’s promotion is one of the more expansive offerings in recent months.
