XBOX Free Play Days adds PGA TOUR 2K25, The Division 2, The Escapists 2, and Young Suns this weekend

Xbox Free Play Days is back with four games to try this weekend, including two games that do not require an Xbox Game Pass subscription.

From today, September 24, through Sunday, September 27, Xbox players can try PGA TOUR 2K25, Tom Clancy’s The Division 2, The Escapists 2, and Young Suns at no extra cost. The latest rotation has something for nearly every type of player, from golf and tactical shooters to co-op prison escapes and a new narrative life sim.

This is the latest in a long-running series of weekend promotions, which Xbox uses to let players test full games before deciding whether to buy them. You can keep track of previous and upcoming trials through our Xbox Free Play Days coverage.

PGA TOUR 2K25 and The Division 2 are free for all Xbox members

The biggest part of this week’s promotion is that PGA TOUR 2K25 and The Division 2 are available to try for all Xbox members. You do not need an Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, Premium, or Essential membership to download and play those two games during the event.

PGA TOUR 2K25 is available through Xbox Free Play Days with the Standard Edition. Players can take part in Ranked Tours at the Championship at Del Cerro and earn themed rewards for their MyPLAYER.

Xbox is also highlighting this week’s featured quest, called The Captain’s Call. To complete it, players need to hit five fairways in regulation, record five birdies in a single round, and make three putts from at least 10 feet away.

Completing the challenge earns 250 VC, three Fittings, a level-up token, 600 MyPLAYER XP, and a Silver Leather Watch cosmetic.

This is not the first time PGA TOUR 2K25 has appeared in an Xbox weekend promotion. Earlier this year, Xbox included the golf game in another Free Play Days lineup alongside Two Point Museum, Assetto Corsa, and Dead by Daylight. Meanwhile, Tom Clancy’s The Division 2 gives players a chance to return to a devastated Washington, D.C. in Ubisoft’s tactical third-person shooter.

The Division 2 supports solo and co-op play, with players taking on missions, collecting loot, building character loadouts, and battling hostile factions across a large open-world version of the U.S. capital. Xbox says the Standard Edition is discounted by up to 90% for a limited time, although exact discounts can vary by region.

The Escapists 2 and Young Suns require Game Pass

The other two games in this week’s Free Play Days lineup — The Escapists 2 and Young Suns — require an active Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, Premium, or Essential membership.

Both games are available from September 24 through September 27.

The Escapists 2 is Team17’s sandbox prison-break game, where players must work out creative ways to escape increasingly difficult prisons. You can follow routines, steal supplies, craft tools out of everyday items, and try to avoid the guards while preparing an exit strategy.

The game supports co-op multiplayer, making it a fun option for Game Pass members looking for something less serious than a competitive shooter. Of course, if a stealthy escape plan fails, there is always the option of fighting your way out.

Young Suns is the more unusual game in this week’s lineup. It is a multiplayer narrative life sim set around Jupiter after a successful revolution against predatory corporations.

Players can explore moonlets, old stations, and ruins from their own spaceship. You can play alone or with a crew of up to three friends, repair items, customize your ship, form relationships with characters, and help rebuild communities across the solar system.

Young Suns supports Xbox Series X|S optimization, Smart Delivery, and Xbox Play Anywhere. It is also available on both console and PC as part of this Free Play Days event.
