XBOX Game Pass Wave 2 August: Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy, Blood Dungeon, and More Coming Day One

If you thought August was already a stacked month for XBOX Game Pass Wave 2, buckle up, because the second wave just dropped and it’s bringing some genuinely exciting day-one releases. We’re talking a highly anticipated prequel, a souls-like platformer, and a blood-soaked roguelite dungeon crawler, all landing on the service before the month wraps up.

The details come straight from XBOX Wire, where Senior Community Lead Megan Spurr laid out everything hitting Game Pass Ultimate, Game Pass Premium, and PC Game Pass over the next couple of weeks. The headliner is easily Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy, the prequel fans have been buzzing about since its reveal at the XBOX Games Showcase this summer, and it’s launching directly into Game Pass on day one.

Available Today

First up is Egging On (Cloud, XBOX Series X|S, Handheld, and PC), which arrived today, August 18. It’s exactly as chaotic as it sounds: you play as a fragile egg trying to escape a henhouse by jumping, rolling, and climbing through a farm shop, a factory, and other hazard-filled environments. It’s now included with Game Pass Premium, joining Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass.

Coming Soon to XBOX Game Pass Wave 2

The rest of the lineup rolls out in stages through early September, so here’s the full breakdown:

• Vapor World: Over the Mind (Game Preview) (Cloud, Console, PC) – August 19, day one on Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass. This narrative-driven souls-like platformer leans into deflection combat as you descend into a shattered mind chasing lost memories.
• BlazBlue Entropy Effect X (Cloud, XBOX Series X|S, PC) – August 19, now on Game Pass Premium. This roguelite brings the BlazBlue universe to life with sharp 2D visuals and stylish combat, plus Platinum joins the roster in a free content update.
• Relooted (Cloud, XBOX Series X|S, PC) – August 19, now on Game Pass Premium. An Africanfuturist heist game where you reclaim real African artifacts from western museums, recruiting crew and planning your escape.
• Starsand Island (Cloud, XBOX Series X|S, PC) – August 20, now on Game Pass Premium. A relaxing life sim with capybaras, fishing, and a mystical Moonlit Forest to explore.
• Aerial_Knight’s DropShot (Cloud, XBOX Series X|S, Handheld, PC) – August 25, now on Game Pass Premium. A high-speed FPS racer starring Smoke Wallace, a guy who fires bullets from his fingertips after a run-in with a radioactive dragon.

• Blood Dungeon (Cloud, XBOX Series X|S, PC) – August 25, day one on Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass. From the creators of Nidhogg, this 2D platforming survival game has you parkouring through dungeons, kiting monsters, and spending earned bones at the Bone Shop to get stronger.
• Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy (Cloud, XBOX Series X|S, Handheld, PC) – August 27, day one on Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass. Follow Sophia’s journey to the Minotaur’s Island as she dodges deadly trials and stays ahead of the army hunting her, all while a legendary creature waits in the shadows.

• Young Suns (Cloud, Console, PC) – August 31, now on Game Pass Premium. A narrative life sim set on Jupiter after a successful revolution, playable solo or with up to three friends.
• Shelldiver (Cloud, Console, PC) – September 1, on Game Pass Ultimate, Game Pass Premium, and PC Game Pass. A cozy incremental game about a turtle who fishes jellyfish and runs a little shop.

In Case You Missed It

Wolfenstein 3D quietly landed on XBOX Series X|S and Cloud Gaming on August 12 for Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass subscribers. If you’ve never played the game that basically invented the modern FPS, now’s your chance.

Meanwhile, World of Tanks Modern Armor is rolling out an XP Stock Bundle on September 1 with a Björn Larsen 3D Commander and four Commander XP Boosters for Game Pass subscribers.
