Exciting Battlefield 6 Open Beta Week 2: Full Playlist, Custom Search, and How to Play on Xbox Game Pass

Starting today and running through August 14–17, 2025 marks the second weekend of the Battlefield 6 Open Beta, and this time the developers at Battlefield Studios are shaking things up with expanded playlists, a brand-new Custom Search feature, and more options for Xbox, PlayStation, and PC players.

Following an action-packed first beta weekend, developers confirmed via the official Battlefield blog that they are using player feedback to refine the October 10, 2025 launch experience.

Custom Search Arrives — Your Maps, Your Modes

One of the biggest additions for Weekend 2 is Custom Search, letting you filter and prioritize your matchmaking experience. While it’s not a full Server Browser, Custom Search allows you to select your favorite map/mode combinations—like Conquest on Siege of Cairo—so matchmaking will try to place you in your preferred combination.

For the beta, Custom Search only applies to Open Weapon mode playlists but already promises more control and variety.

Full Playlist Rotation — August 14–17 Schedule

Battlefield 6 Week 2 rotates between fast-paced close-quarters combat and massive “All-Out Warfare” battles, featuring multiple fan-favorite game modes each day.

Day 1 – Thursday, August 14

• Conquest

• Rush

• Attack & Defend (Breakthrough, Rush)

• Close Quarters: Domination, King of the Hill

• Closed Weapons All-Out Warfare (Conquest, Breakthrough)

Day 2 – Friday, August 15

• Conquest

• Squad Deathmatch

• Close Quarters: Domination, King of the Hill, Squad Deathmatch

• All-Out Warfare: Conquest, Breakthrough, Rush

• Closed Weapons All-Out Warfare (Conquest, Breakthrough)

Day 3–4 – Saturday, August 16 & Sunday, August 17

• Conquest

• Close Quarters: Domination, King of the Hill, Squad Deathmatch

• All-Out Warfare: Conquest, Breakthrough, Rush

• Closed Weapons All-Out Warfare (Conquest, Breakthrough)

While daily playlist rotation is specific to the beta phase, it allows developers to test variety without locking popular modes away.

Training & New Player Options

To help new soldiers adjust, Training Grounds remains available, featuring:

• Firing Range for weapon testing

• Class tutorials

• Game mode introductions to Breakthrough and Conquest

Players at career rank 15 or below can also enter Initiation Mode, which uses AI Soldiers for a lighter learning curve. This mode rotates between Breakthrough and Conquest and includes a non-playable Rush intro.

How to Play Battlefield 6 Open Beta on Xbox Game Pass & EA App

You have multiple ways to join the fight on Xbox, PC, and PlayStation:

Xbox Game Pass Ultimate & Game Pass for PC

• Included Access: Battlefield 6 beta is available with Game Pass Ultimate on Xbox Series X|S and PC.

• Just search “Battlefield 6 Open Beta” in the Microsoft Store or Xbox app.

EA App on PC

• EA Play members (included with Game Pass Ultimate) can download directly via the EA app for Windows.

• Go to the Trials / Beta section, and install the game ahead of time for instant access.

Microsoft Store (No Subscription)

• If you’re not a Game Pass member, you can still grab the open beta via the Microsoft Store during the event dates.

Launch Countdown

With just under two months until Battlefield 6 releases on October 10, 2025, Weekend 2 of Open Beta offers a final major stress test before preloads begin. Expect final tweaks, bug fixes, and playlist adjustments based on your feedback. Be sure to enable Secure Boot on your Windows 11 PC, so you can play this weekend!
