Microsoft is taking a major step toward improving Windows 11 reliability and performance with the introduction of a new Driver Quality Initiative (DQI), announced during WinHEC 2026 in Taipei. The initiative signals a renewed push by Microsoft to tighten collaboration across its vast hardware ecosystem and address one of the most common root causes of system instability: drivers.
