Xbox Game Studios

Xbox Game Studios is an American video game publisher based in Redmond, Washington, established in March 2000 as a spin-off from an internal Games Group within Microsoft. It was initially created for the development and publishing of video games for Microsoft Windows but has since expanded its operations to include games and other interactive entertainment for Xbox platforms, other desktop operating systems, Windows Mobile and other mobile platforms, web-based portals, and other game consoles. Formerly known as Microsoft Studios, Microsoft Game Studios, and Microsoft Games, Xbox Game Studios is part of the Microsoft Gaming division, led by Phil Spencer, the division’s chief executive officer.
