Microsoft announced that Windows 11 is now officially the home for AI on the PC, rolling out a host of exclusive, smart capabilities—especially for users of Copilot+ PCs. As documented on the official Windows Experience Blog, these features are designed to make PCs more intuitive, accessible, and powerful than ever for work, creativity, and play.

AI Adoption Accelerating: Windows 11 at the Center

According to a new Microsoft-commissioned report, nearly 60% of users employ generative AI for work and business, and 64% use AI for hobbies like art, music, and DIY. As user expectations grow, Windows is ramping up its AI arsenal with unique features that empower both productivity and creativity.

All-New: Windows 11 Copilot+ PC Exclusive Experiences

1. Windows’ First AI Agent in Settings

  • Natural Language Settings Search: Users can now type requests like “I want to enable quiet hours” or “connect Bluetooth device” directly into the Settings search. The agent understands these plain language prompts, making hundreds of settings instantly accessible or reversible.

  • Exclusive to Copilot+ PCs with Snapdragon processors (English only at launch; Intel and AMD support coming soon).

  • Improved fallback: If an AI-driven change isn’t possible, enhanced Windows Search steps in to help.

How to Try: Open Settings, type your request, and let the agent change or undo settings for you.

2. Click to Do (Preview): Smart Actions Onscreen

This powerful tool lets users invoke contextual actions on any text or image with simple shortcuts (Windows key + click/Q, or via Snipping Tool).

  • Practice in Reading Coach: Helps users build reading fluency by selecting text and reading aloud, with feedback on areas for improvement.

  • Read with Immersive Reader: Transforms text into a distraction-free, customizable reading environment. Features adjustable fonts, themes, picture dictionary, and more.

  • Draft with Copilot in Word: Instantly draft full-length Word documents from any snippet of screen text. (Requires a Microsoft 365 Copilot subscription.)

  • Teams Integration: Schedule a Teams meeting or send a message when clicking an email address onscreen—helps streamline communication.

How to Try: Use designated shortcuts or pen/touch gestures. Learn more.

3. Photos App: Professional “Relight” Controls

The new relight feature brings pro-grade lighting adjustment to any snapshot:

  • Add up to three virtual light sources, control intensity, color, presets (“Studio Portrait,” “Cinematic Glow”), and fine-tune positioning with simple sliders.

  • Available now for Copilot+ PCs with Snapdragon X Series; Intel and AMD support coming soon.

How to Try: Open Photos > Edit > Relight.

4. Paint: AI-Powered Sticker Generator & Object Select

  • Sticker Generator: Describe a sticker (“a cat wearing sunglasses”), and AI instantly creates custom stickers to apply or use elsewhere.Windows 11 Copilot+ PCs Expand Their AI Superpowers with New Settings Agent, and More, Now Available

Productivity, Accessibility, and New Recovery Features

1. Copilot Vision on Windows

  • Now available in the US, Copilot Vision offers real-time, context-aware assistance by “seeing” what’s happening on your screen. It provides insights, step-by-step guides, and instant help across apps.

  • Highlights: Ask, “show me how,” and Copilot interacts within the app to guide you with clicks and visual cues.

  • Supports full-desktop navigation and integrates with Microsoft Edge for a seamless browser experience.

2. Edge Game Assist

  • Game Assist:Embedded in Microsoft Edge and Windows Game Bar (Win+G), it delivers tips, walkthroughs, and quick access to Discord, Spotify, and Twitch—right inside your games.

3. Quick Machine Recovery and Streamlined Restarts

  • Faster restarts:Windows 11 now recovers from unexpected shutdowns in as little as two seconds for most consumer devices (down from up to 40 seconds).

  • Quick Machine Recovery: Windows Recovery Environment (WinRE) now autodetects and fixes system-wide issues—so you spend less time troubleshooting.

Windows 10 End-of-Support: Simple Transition Path

With Windows 10 support ending on October 14, 2025, Microsoft is making it easier to upgrade or extend support:

  • An enrollment wizard in Windows Settings and notifications helps users decide between upgrading to Windows 11 or joining the Windows 10 ESU Program for continued security updates.

  • Transition resources and tools available from Microsoft to ensure a smooth, secure migration.

How to Get the Latest AI Features

  • Updates are rolling out via controlled feature rollout and through today’s non-security Windows Update preview release. Also, check the Microsoft Store for updates to Paint, Photos, and Copilot.

  • For early access, enable “Get the latest updates as soon as they’re available” in Settings > Windows Update.
