Players have another stacked weekend ahead thanks to the latest Xbox Free Play Days promotion, giving subscribers a chance to dive into some big-name titles at no extra cost. Headlining the lineup is Diablo IV, joined by co-op shooter Killing Floor 3, competitive sim Bassmaster Fishing, chaotic strategy classic Worms W.M.D, and the political city-builder Tropico 6. Whether you’re looking for demon-slaying action, tactical worm warfare, or laid-back fishing, there’s pretty much something for every mood.

According to the latest Xbox Wire post, Free Play Days are live for Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, Premium, and Essential members from Thursday, March 12 through Sunday, March 15, with Diablo IV getting an extended open trial from March 11 at 10 a.m. PT until March 18 at 10 a.m. PT. That means you can sample Blizzard’s dark action RPG for over a week, then decide if you want to keep going via Game Pass or a full purchase. Your progress carries over, so any character you level or loot you earn during the event won’t go to waste if you decide to continue.

Getting started is straightforward. On the web, you can head to Xbox.com, scroll down to each game’s detail page, and hit install while signed in with your Xbox account that has an active Game Pass Ultimate, Premium, or Essential membership. On console, open the Xbox Store, go to the Subscriptions tab, and scroll down to the dedicated Free Play Days collection on your Xbox One or Xbox Series X|S. From there, it’s just a matter of choosing what you want to install and play over the weekend.

Each game in this week’s lineup also comes with a limited-time discount if you decide to buy and keep it after the event ends. Killing Floor 3, for example, is currently 40% off its standard price, letting you continue the fight against zeds in its arctic Operation: Deep Freeze setting without losing your progress. Any Gamerscore and achievements you unlock during Free Play Days stay on your profile, so even if you only jump in for a few hours, those accomplishments are permanent. Exact discounts and availability may vary depending on your region, but the idea is the same: try, then buy at a reduced price if it clicks with you.

Outside of Diablo IV, the rest of the lineup brings a wide range of genres to the table. Bassmaster Fishing delivers officially licensed, tournament-style angling across amateur and elite events, with support for Smart Delivery, Xbox Play Anywhere, and optimization for Xbox Series X|S. Worms W.M.D brings back the fan-favorite artillery chaos in hand-drawn 2D, now with vehicles, buildings, crafting, and a mix of new and classic weapons. Tropico 6 rounds things out with a deep, tongue-in-cheek city-building experience that lets you rule your own island nation as either a feared dictator or a beloved leader over multiple eras of political and social change.

Diablo IV’s free trial is likely to be the biggest draw, especially with the chance to try the Paladin from the Lord of Hatred expansion. You can play through the campaign up to level 25 with any class, get a feel for the tone and combat, and then seamlessly continue if you pick up the game or play it on Game Pass after the trial ends. For players who have been on the fence, this is essentially a full demo of the early game, backed by progress carryover and a clear path to keep going once the event wraps up.

Xbox is encouraging players not to sleep on these Free Play Days, noting that they’re a great way to expand your library, test-drive genres you might not usually buy, and pick up heavily discounted games you end up enjoying. If you want to stay ahead of future weekends like this, it’s worth keeping an eye on https://msftnewsnow.com and the Free Play Days section in the store so you don’t miss upcoming lineups and time-limited trials.
