XBOX Free Play Days Offers NBA 2K26, Ghost Recon Games, Wax Heads and More This Weekend

XBOX is serving up another packed XBOX Free Play Days weekend, giving players a mix of basketball, tactical action, record-store storytelling, and renovation simulation to try across XBOX consoles.

As detailed in a new XBOX Wire blog post, Sports Renovations is available to XBOX Game Pass Ultimate, Premium, and Essential members from August 6 through August 9. Meanwhile, all XBOX members can jump into Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Wildlands and Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Breakpoint at no additional membership requirement from August 6 to August 10.

The biggest window belongs to NBA 2K26, which is free to try for all XBOX members from August 7 through August 14. Players can also try Wax Heads through a two-hour timed trial during the Free Play Days event.

This Weekend’s XBOX Free Play Days lineup

1. Sports Renovations — Available August 6-9 for Game Pass Ultimate, Premium, and Essential members. The story-driven simulator asks players to restore aging sports venues, from gymnasiums and courts to pitches, before showing the city that a neglected basketball court can shine again.

2. Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Wildlands — Available August 6-10 for all XBOX members. Ubisoft’s open-world tactical shooter drops players into Bolivia, including the darker Last Rites mission content.

3. Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Breakpoint — Available August 6-10 for all XBOX members. Players take on the role of a Ghost operating on the isolated Auroa archipelago against the hostile Wolves faction.
4. NBA 2K26 — Available August 7-14 for all XBOX members. This year’s entry includes MyCAREER, MyTEAM, MyNBA, The W, and Play Now, with ProPLAY-powered on-court presentation.

5. Wax Heads — A two-hour trial for all XBOX members. The cozy-punk narrative game puts players behind the counter at Repeater Records, pairing customers with music from its handcrafted collection.
