Microsoft’s next wave of XBOX Game Pass games brings Battlefield 6, Valor Mortis, Forever Ago, and more to the service between October 8 and October 16. The October 2026 lineup includes nine upcoming additions, with seven arriving on their release day.
There’s a little something for everyone this time around, from large-scale multiplayer battles to a quiet road trip with a camera. But there’s also a sizable departure list: nine games leave on October 15, including Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 and A Plague Tale: Requiem.
Battlefield 6 leads October additions

Battlefield 6 joins XBOX Game Pass on October 13 for Ultimate and PC Game Pass subscribers across cloud, XBOX Series X|S, and PC. This is a library addition rather than one of the announcement’s day-one releases.
Expect the series’ familiar mix of all-out warfare, close-quarters firefights, and tactical destruction. The announcement also highlights EA Play extras, including the EA Play Deployment Pack, the Season 5 EA Play Pack, and recurring seasonal rewards. Ultimate subscribers get EA Play included with their membership, alongside 10% off eligible EA digital purchases.

Sharing that October 13 release date is Valor Mortis, a day-one addition from the creators of Ghostrunner. The first-person action soulslike puts you in the boots of a resurrected soldier from Napoleon’s army, with supernatural abilities, horrifying enemies, and a conspiracy threatening humanity.
For something less intense, Forever Ago arrives on October 8. This single-player road trip adventure follows Alfred as he heads north after a personal tragedy. You’ll explore scenic locations, take photographs, and meet people along the way. It’s a very different pace from Battlefield, and that variety is part of what makes this batch interesting.

| Beyond These Stars | October 16 | PC | Ultimate, PC Game Pass | Yes |
Beyond the headline games, Echo Weaver looks intriguing. Its knowledge-based metroidvania structure revolves around a time loop, with the secrets you discover serving as your upgrades.
Deep Dish Dungeon combines survival, crafting, and dungeon exploration, with solo play or online co-op. Chained Beasts takes a more chaotic approach: up to four players fight through gladiator arenas while physically chained together, using those chains and their surroundings against enemies.
Bluey’s Happy Snaps offers a family-friendly option, letting players explore familiar locations with Bluey and Bingo, photograph Australian wildlife, and play alongside a second player. Meanwhile, Beyond These Stars is a PC-only city builder that asks you to manage a settlement on the back of a space whale.
Premium subscribers get Neon Abyss 2 in this upcoming batch. The roguelike action platformer drops players into a pixelated cyberpunk world for another round of combat, revenge, and “just one more run.”
The announcement’s Handheld label specifically identifies games optimized for handheld play.
Three games already available
Microsoft also highlighted three titles already in the library. These are separate from the nine upcoming additions.

Minecraft Dungeons II takes players into the Sift, with unfamiliar enemies, new territory, and more ways to customize equipment. Gears of War: E-Day heads in the other direction chronologically, following Marcus Fenix and Dominic Santiago 14 years before the original Gears of War as the Locust invasion begins.

Asphalt Legends gets bonus rewards
Asphalt Legends players can claim an in-game benefit starting October 7. The pack includes:
- Ford GT MKII
- 250 tokens
- 250,000 credits
This benefit is available to Ultimate, Premium, Essential, and PC Game Pass subscribers. It’s listed for cloud, console, and PC, making it one extra perk to check alongside this month’s game additions.
