Microsoft’s Xbox division is set to make a grand return to gamescom, Europe’s largest gaming event, from August 21-25, 2024, in Cologne, Germany. The tech giant has announced an impressive lineup featuring over 50 gaming titles, exclusive demos, and daily live broadcasts, promising an unforgettable experience for attendees and virtual participants alike.
Xbox booth highlights at gamescom 2024
The Xbox booth, located in Hall 7 of the Koelnmesse, will showcase an extensive array of games from Xbox Game Studios, Acitvision-Blizzard, Bethesda, and third-party partners. With more than 240 gaming stations, attendees will have hands-on access to highly anticipated titles such as:
- Age of Mythology: Retold
- Ara: History Untold
- Diablo IV: Vessel of Hatred
- Fallout 76: Milepost Zero
- The Elder Scrolls Online: Gold Road
- Towerborne
Exclusive theater presentations will feature upcoming blockbusters like Avowed, Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, and Starfield: Shattered Space.
Blizzard’s return to gamescom 2024
Making their debut at the Xbox booth, Blizzard Entertainment will offer an exclusive public hands-on demo of the new Spiritborn class from the upcoming Diablo IV: Vessel of Hatred expansion. World of Warcraft fans can experience a special immersive Skyriding simulation to celebrate the launch of The War Within expansion.
Third-party and indie offerings
The booth will also feature playable demos from third-party partners, including Ubisoft’s Star Wars Outlaws and GSC Game World’s S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl. The Indie Selects area will showcase diverse titles from independent developers, such as Maximum Entertainment’s Squirrel with a Gun and 11 bit Studios’ Creatures of Ava.
Game Pass experience
Xbox Game Pass will have a dedicated setup allowing visitors to explore different sections for PC, Console, and Cloud gaming. Attendees can participate in various activities for a chance to win exclusive prizes, including Game Pass tokens, gaming hardware, and accessories.
Accessibility and inclusivity
Demonstrating their commitment to accessibility, Xbox has ensured wheelchair access throughout the booth, availability of Xbox Adaptive Controllers, and the presence of sign language interpreters. A quiet room and sensory aids will also be available for those who need them.
Live broadcasts
For fans unable to attend in person, Xbox will host daily live streams from August 21-23, featuring first-look gameplay, developer interviews, and new trailers. The broadcasts will be available in multiple languages, including German, Arabic, Chinese, and various European languages, with ASL interpretation and English audio descriptions.
Xbox FanFest
Xbox FanFest will kick off the gamescom week with a special community event on August 21. Fans can enter for a chance to win tickets through the Xbox FanFest website.
Gear shop and community hub
The booth will include an official Gear Shop offering merchandise from Xbox Game Studios, Blizzard, Activision, and Bethesda. A Community Hub will provide a relaxed space for attendees, featuring special programming, cosplay meetups, and developer meet-and-greets.
