ASUS has opened pre-orders for the limited-edition ROG XBOX Ally X20 gaming handheld. The device costs $1,299 on its own, while a $2,499 ROG 20th Anniversary Bundle adds AR glasses, a dbrand Killswitch case, and a custom Pelican Protector Case.

The ROG XBOX Ally X20 is scheduled to go on sale October 15, giving handheld gaming fans a premium new option built around an upgraded OLED display, AMD’s Ryzen AI Z2 Extreme processor, and a black-and-gold anniversary design.
ROG XBOX Ally X20 Specs
The ROG XBOX Ally X20 is designed as a special-edition celebration of 20 years of ASUS Republic of Gamers hardware. It uses a semi-translucent black chassis that reveals gold-accented internal elements, along with custom gold-plated fans, gold lighting around the joysticks, a green backlit XBOX button, and a gold ROG 20th Anniversary badge.

Its biggest hardware change is a 7.4-inch ROG Nebula HDR OLED display. ASUS says the panel supports a 30Hz to 120Hz variable refresh-rate range, VESA True Black 1400 certification, FreeSync Premium Pro, up to 1,400 nits of peak brightness, and an anti-reflective coating designed to reduce environmental reflections by 65%.

ASUS is also making several control changes. The handheld includes magnetic TMR joysticks with a claimed 3% dead zone, an algorithm intended to eliminate four-axis snapping, a textured rubberized coating for improved grip, and a hybrid rubber-and-metal transforming D-pad that can switch between four-way and eight-way inputs.
What’s Included in the Bundle?
For collectors, ASUS is offering a $2,499 ROG 20th Anniversary Bundle. It includes the ROG XBOX Ally X20, ROG XREAL R1 Edition 20 Gaming AR Glasses, a custom dbrand Killswitch case, and a Pelican Protector Case.
The dbrand case includes a skin inspired by the handheld’s motherboard layout, custom joystick covers, and a travel cover. The Pelican case uses a fitted foam interior for the handheld, AR glasses, and a controller, all finished in the same black-and-gold Edition 20 styling.
ROG XREAL AR Glasses Also Available

The ROG XREAL R1 Edition 20 Gaming AR Glasses can also be pre-ordered separately for $799. They feature two 1080p Micro-OLED displays and are designed to simulate a 171-inch virtual screen viewed from four meters away.
The glasses connect to and draw power from the ROG XBOX Ally X20 through a single USB-C cable. ASUS says they cover 95% of the user’s focused viewing area, offering a large private display for playing games away from a monitor or TV. The glasses are expected to go on sale in mid-September.
A Premium Handheld for Collectors

At $1,299, the ROG XBOX Ally X20 sits firmly at the top end of the handheld gaming market. However, ASUS is positioning it as more than a standard refresh: the upgraded OLED panel, Ryzen AI Z2 Extreme chip, refined controls, and limited-edition styling make it a collector-focused model for players who want a high-end portable XBOX and PC gaming device.
Regional pricing and availability may vary, according to ASUS.
