XBOX is heading back to Tokyo Game Show with a packed 2026 presence that includes a dedicated broadcast, playable demos of Minecraft Dungeons II and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4, plus an XBOX FanFest event in Japan. The presentation arrives as XBOX celebrates 25 years of gaming globally and more than 20 years in Japan.
The XBOX Tokyo Game Show 2026 Broadcast will air on Thursday, September 17 at 7:00 p.m. JST. That works out to 3:00 a.m. Pacific, 6:00 a.m. Eastern, and 11:00 a.m. in the UK—so XBOX fans in the United States will need an early alarm if they want to watch live. The showcase will be hosted by Misuzu Araki and promises Tokyo Game Show-exclusive content, fresh gameplay, and announcements focused on games coming to the XBOX platform this year.
XBOX shared the full details in its new XBOX Wire announcement for Tokyo Game Show 2026, highlighting the company’s expanding work with developers and publishing partners throughout Japan and the wider Asian market. The company says the region’s creators, games, and players have helped shape XBOX for more than two decades.
How To Watch XBOX At TGS 2026
The XBOX Tokyo Game Show 2026 Broadcast will be streamed across XBOX’s official channels on September 17. Viewers can tune in through the official XBOX YouTube channel, XBOX Japan’s YouTube channel, or XBOX on Twitch. The global YouTube stream will be available in 4K and will include American Sign Language and English Audio Descriptions.
The initial broadcast will mix Japanese and English audio. XBOX says subtitles and language support will be added after the stream in Arabic, Chinese, French, German, Hindi, Indonesian, Italian, Korean, Māori, Polish, Portuguese, Russian, Spanish, Thai, Turkish, Ukrainian, Vietnamese, and more.

Minecraft Dungeons II Goes Hands-On
One of the biggest reasons to watch—or attend Tokyo Game Show in person—is Minecraft Dungeons II. After making its debut at gamescom, the co-op dungeon crawler sequel will be playable on the Tokyo Game Show floor for the first time.
That means fans attending the event in Japan will be able to get hands-on with the next chapter in the Minecraft action-RPG series before launch. XBOX has confirmed that Minecraft Dungeons II will be available day one with Game Pass on September 29, 2026.
The original Minecraft Dungeons took Minecraft’s recognizable world and turned it into a more accessible, loot-driven dungeon crawler. Its follow-up is one of the more notable releases on XBOX’s September calendar, especially with its day-one Game Pass availability.
Modern Warfare 4 Will Be Playable
XBOX is also bringing Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 to the Tokyo Game Show floor in partnership with Happinet. Visitors will be able to try the upcoming game’s Multiplayer before its global launch on October 23, 2026.
The playable demo will be located in Hall 6 at booth 06-N4. XBOX says Call of Duty will also be part of the XBOX FanFest Tokyo activities, giving attendees another opportunity to see the annual blockbuster in action.
While XBOX has not yet confirmed the entire presentation lineup, the company says the broadcast will feature “an exciting lineup of games coming to the platform this year,” alongside content and gameplay created specifically for Tokyo Game Show. That wording leaves room for additional announcements and appearances beyond the titles already confirmed.
XBOX FanFest And TGS Cat Return
XBOX FanFest will make a stop in Japan on September 17, kicking off the Tokyo Game Show celebrations with a watch party for the broadcast. The event will feature special guests Misuzu Araki and Larry Hryb, better known to longtime XBOX fans as Major Nelson.
XBOX is also bringing back its now-familiar Tokyo Game Show black-cat mascot. This year’s artwork places the cat at the center of the campaign, walking across a Tokyo crossing under a green skyline to represent XBOX’s 25-year history and what comes next. XBOX says fans will soon be able to vote on a name for the mascot through its social channels.
Tokyo Game Show 2026 runs from September 17 through September 21 at Makuhari Messe in Chiba, Japan. XBOX fans who cannot attend should circle September 17 on the calendar, as the company’s annual TGS presentation could provide a closer look at its late-2026 lineup and upcoming projects from Japan and across Asia.
