XBOX Free Play Days is back this weekend with a major Ubisoft takeover. From today, October 1, through Sunday, October 4, all XBOX members can try FARCRY 6, Assassin’s Creed Odyssey, Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora, Skull and Bones, and The Crew Motorfest at no extra cost.
The biggest news is that this is a Free Play Days for All event. You do not need an XBOX Game Pass Ultimate, Premium, or Essential membership to download and play these five Ubisoft games during the free-play window. That makes it one of the stronger Free Play Days lineups in recent weeks, especially for players looking for a huge open-world game to spend the weekend with. It follows last week’s Free Play Days selection, which included PGA TOUR 2K25, Tom Clancy’s The Division 2, The Escapists 2, and Young Suns. Like The Division 2 last week, Ubisoft is making several of its biggest games available to all XBOX players this time around. You can read our coverage of that previous lineup here: XBOX Free Play Days adds PGA TOUR 2K25, The Division 2, The Escapists 2, and Young Suns this weekend.
XBOX Free Play Days games
Here is the full XBOX Free Play Days lineup for October 1 through October 4:
FARCRY 6
FARCRY 6 sends players to Yara, a fictional Caribbean island ruled by dictator Antón Castillo. You take control of Dani Rojas and join a guerrilla revolution using improvised weapons, customizable vehicles, animal companions, and co-op play.
The game can be played solo or with a friend, making it an easy choice if you want a big open-world shooter to play through the weekend. FARCRY 6 is also currently listed at $8.99, down from $59.99, for players who decide they want to keep it after the trial ends.
Assassin’s Creed Odyssey
Assassin’s Creed Odyssey takes players to Ancient Greece during the Peloponnesian War. You can play as Kassandra or Alexios, explore the Greek islands, fight mythological creatures, build your character through RPG-style choices, and take part in large-scale battles between Sparta and Athens.
It is one of the most content-heavy games in Ubisoft’s Assassin’s Creed series, so this free weekend is a great opportunity to see whether its massive world is for you. The game is currently discounted to $11.99, down from $59.99.
Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora
Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora lets players explore the Western Frontier, a new region of Pandora created for Ubisoft’s open-world Avatar adventure.
You play as a Na’vi reconnecting with their heritage while protecting Pandora from the RDA. The game includes first-person exploration, aerial traversal with an ikran, combat, crafting, and online co-op. It is a particularly good title to try on XBOX Series X|S if you want to see its lush world and visual presentation in action. Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora is currently discounted to $16.49, down from $29.99.
Skull and Bones
Skull and Bones is Ubisoft’s open-world pirate game, centered on ship combat, looting, upgrades, trading, and building a notorious pirate empire.
The free weekend arrives during Year 3 Season 2: Crimson Waters. Ubisoft says the current season brings the new Junk ship, Abyssal Fleet and Abyssal Envoy challenges, Modification Transfer, and Mastery Loadouts. It is a useful chance for returning players to check out the latest updates, while new players can jump in without buying the game first.
The Crew Motorfest
The Crew Motorfest is Ubisoft’s open-world racing game set on the Hawaiian island of Oʻahu. It is built around themed racing playlists and car culture, letting players race, cruise, explore, and collect from a roster of more than 800 vehicles.
If you are looking for a more relaxed option than the shooters and RPGs in this week’s lineup, The Crew Motorfest is worth downloading. It is currently discounted to $47.99, down from $59.99.
How to download the games
To download the free XBOX Free Play Days titles on an XBOX One or XBOX Series X|S:
- Open the XBOX Store on your console.
- Select the Subscriptions tab.
- Scroll down to the Free Play Days collection.
- Choose a game and install it.
You can also go to each game’s XBOX.com page, sign in with your Microsoft account, and select the install option. Since this is a Free Play Days for All event, an XBOX Game Pass membership is not required for these five games.
