XBOX is rolling out a new achievement feature that gives completionists another reason to revisit their back catalog. Mythic Achievements are now available for XBOX Insiders, rewarding players who have unlocked every original achievement in an eligible game.
The feature is retroactive, too. That means some players may already have Mythic Achievements waiting on their XBOX profile for games they completed years ago, including select XBOX 360 titles.
What are XBOX Mythic Achievements?

Mythic Achievements are earned when a player completes all of a game’s original achievements. XBOX says achievements introduced later through DLC, expansions, or title updates will not be required for Mythic status.
That distinction should make the feature more achievable for players who completed a game at launch but skipped its later content. Once a game has been marked as Mythic, that status remains permanently attached to the player’s account.

XBOX is also applying the feature to eligible games completed in the past. So, if you fully completed an older favorite, it may already be recognized as Mythic when you next check your profile.
For longtime achievement hunters, it is a more meaningful way to showcase game completions beyond the standard Gamerscore total. It could also give players a fresh reason to work through unfinished achievement lists on older XBOX games.
A new Gaming tab arrives on XBOX profiles

Alongside Mythic Achievements, XBOX is adding a new Gaming tab to player profiles. The tab brings achievements, completed games, and upcoming Gamerscore milestone badges into one place.
Mythic games will stand out in achievement history with a special heroic frame. Players can also view friends’ Gaming tabs to compare accomplishments and see which games their friends have completed to Mythic status.
The profile update should make achievement tracking feel more personal, especially for players who have built up a large XBOX history across XBOX 360, XBOX One, and XBOX Series X|S.
XBOX makes Mythic progress easier to track

XBOX is also adding a new progress bar to each game’s achievement list. The bar shows how close a player is to earning Mythic status and can highlight only the original achievements still needed.
Achievements introduced after launch will be labeled as “add-on,” making it clearer which ones count toward a Mythic Achievement and which are optional extra content.
Players should also see Mythic progress information in more parts of the XBOX experience, including the Guide and achievement-detail screens. That should make it easier to jump back into an unfinished game and immediately see what is left to complete.
This is one of the more player-friendly XBOX profile updates in a while. Gamers who care about 100% completion often run into confusing achievement lists filled with DLC and post-launch updates, so separating original achievements from add-ons is a welcome change.
Available first for XBOX Insiders
Mythic Achievements are currently being tested with XBOX Insiders, so availability may vary while Microsoft gathers feedback and refines the feature.

Players who are not already enrolled can join by downloading the XBOX Insider Hub on XBOX Series X|S, XBOX One, or Windows PC. The program gives members early access to dashboard updates, new social features, game-related tests, and other upcoming XBOX changes.
Microsoft is also encouraging Insiders to share their feedback through the XBOX Player Voice page or the XBOX Insider subreddit.
With the new Gaming tab, retroactive recognition for older completions, and clearer progress tracking, Mythic Achievements could become a popular feature for XBOX players who want their hardest-earned completions to stand out.
